Easter Egg Drop
Time & Place
Saturday, March 30, 9am
Capitol City Baptist Church
5990 NE 14th St, Des Moines
For each age group, our volunteers will scatter candy on the field and the hot air balloon will lift into the air and drop Easter eggs for prizes. Age divisions:
Toddlers to 3-year-olds
4-year-olds to Kindergarteners
First and Second Graders
Third through Fifth Graders
Lots of Prizes!
Every Easter Egg can be redeemed for a small prize. Certain eggs will be for bigger prize baskets. Kids will also have a chance to enter drawings for prizes to be awarded in the Easter Kids Church services the next day.
Games and Activities
While waiting for their age group's Egg Drop, kids are invited to particpate in other games and activities, such as Easter Manicure, Egg Decorating, Easter Ring Toss, and more.
Win a Hot Air Balloon Ride!
Adults are invited to enter a drawing to win a ride up in the tethered hot air balloon. After the Egg Drops are completed, the drawing will take place, and winners will take their ride! (Waivers must be signed before going up in the balloon.)
What About Bad Weather?
If it becomes too windy to use the hot air balloon, we will still have an Easter Egg Hunt in the field. If the weather is too rainy, we will move the event inside the church building.
Everyone is invited to come back the next day to celebrate Easter! There will be a great service for adults in the auditorium with powerful music and a meaningful message. Kids in K-4th grade are invited to join us in Kids Church where we teach kids the stories of Jesus in a way that is meaningful to them. We incorporate fun music, interesting video clips, and creative teaching to communicate powerful messages in a kid-friendly environment. There are also Early Childhood classes for younger children where they learn and play in an environment created just for them.
Easter services are at 7:30AM, 9:00AM and 10:00AM. A free hot breakfast will be served from 7:00-10:30AM.
